Mission
Outlet supports and empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,
queer and questioning youth ages
13-20
living on the Peninsula and South Bay . Through our range
of support services, leadership training, community education
and advocacy, Outlet successfully increases youth confidence,
builds personal assets, and creates healthier communities.

| Who
is behind Outlet?

Shannon Turk, Director
Shannon
joined Outlet in September 2005 as the new director. Shannon
has been a part of Outlet in some way for the past 3 years, since
working for the YWCA of Palo Alto, Outlet's former home. Shannon
brings a fresh new energy to the program, including extensive experience
with development and marketing. She is excited to continue
building on the services Outlet provides and reaching out to the
community.

Eileen
Ross, Assistent Director
Eileen joined Outlet in 2003 to fearlessly coordinate and implement
the many Outlet programs and services. With a Master's degree in
Health Education from SUNY Cortland, Eileen is a whiz at program
design and evaluation. Originally from upstate New York, Eileen
resides in the Bay Area enjoying her cup of coffee and the beaches
of Santa Cruz. |

HYPE!
Program - Young Men's HIV Prevention
Rodrigo
joined Outlet in March 2007 as the new HYPE coordinator. Rodrigo
is from Mexico City, a graduate of the Instutitue of Fine Arts,
a graphic designer and has been in the US for 11 years. He has volunteered
with Prolatino for the past 10 years and been an active member of
the HIV education community for just as long. He has been working
with low income families and at-risk youth in the San Jose area
for the past 7 years. He is a vital resource to Outlet and the spanish
speaking community!! |
